Masjid Noor is honoured to provide Nikah services in accordance with Islamic principles, conducted with dignity, care, and authenticity. Our experienced and authorised Imaams ensure that every Nikah is performed correctly and respectfully.
What Is Nikah?
In Islam, marriage between a bride and groom is a legal and sacred contract, known as Nikah. It establishes the rights and responsibilities of both spouses and is an essential part of forming a family in Islam.
Is a Nikah Required to Be Islamically Married?
Yes. A Nikah must be performed between the bride and groom in order for them to be Islamically married.
Who Can Perform the Nikah?
The Nikah will be conducted by an authorised and Registered Imaam of Masjid Noor, ensuring it is performed according to Islamic requirements.
Does Nikah Mean I Am Legally Married?
No. A Nikah ceremony means you are Islamically married only. To be legally married in the UK, you must complete a civil marriage ceremony at the Registry Office and officially register your marriage.
Does the Bride Require a Guardian (Wali)?
Yes. A Wali (guardian) is required for the Nikah to be valid.
Nikah Certificate
After the Nikah is conducted at Masjid Noor, we will officially certify your Nikah, and you will receive a Nikah certificate.

Nikah Requirements
Please ensure the following requirements are met before the Nikah:
- Mutual agreement to marry between the bride and groom
- Two adult male witnesses who are sound of mind
- Mahr (dowry/security) to be paid by the groom to the bride
- Guardian (Wali) for the bride
- A written marriage contract signed by the bride, groom, and witnesses
- Marriage sermon (Khutbah)
